Inquiry: GaN Chargers

Bulk GaN charger inquiry

This page lists what to confirm when ordering laptop GaN chargers in quantity. It is a checklist for an inquiry, so the reply you receive can be specific. No quantity figures, lead times, power figures or prices are stated here, because none are evidenced; all of them are confirmed in the inquiry, in writing, before payment.

What to name in your inquiry

Name the laptop kind and the connector type: the laptops the charger must serve, and the connector they use, including USB-C interfaces for laptops where that is the type. A charger whose connector does not match the laptop cannot serve it, whatever its other qualities, so the connector is the first thing to name, not an afterthought.

Name the quantity you have in mind, and the market you sell into. The GaN basics guide explains the technology in general terms, and the interfaces guide explains the connector types. An inquiry that names the laptop kind and the connector will receive a specific answer; an inquiry that names only the word charger will receive a general one.

Four confirmations, before payment

First, the minimum order quantity for your order, and whether it differs by charger type. Second, the lead time, with its meaning. Third, the specification for the exact type, including the connector and the power characteristics that the specification states — no power figure is assumed from the word GaN alone. Fourth, the certificates that apply to your market, by name, with documents attached.

Certificates are available upon request; the inquiry is where you name your market and ask for the documents that apply to it. A supplier who answers all four in writing, with documents, is a supplier whose order can proceed.

Before payment, confirm the minimum order quantity and lead time for your order. Certificates are available upon request.

What not to assume

Do not assume a power figure from the word GaN, a connector match from a connector shape alone, or a market's certificate needs from a general assurance. Each assumption is a common cause of a wrong order, and each is avoided by naming the laptop kind, the connector, and the market in the inquiry.
